The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand sport is an optimum combination of rigidity and lightweight engineering. The B-pillars have been cross-stiffened using a carbon fibre support, and a central carbon plate has been positioned beneath the transmission tunnel to ensure the vehicle suffers from less torsional flexing than any other roadster. The model has been modified and the special feature added to this Bugatti is the removable roof. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 grand sport can reach the top speed of 407 km/h and speed of 360 km/h with the roof off. In case it rains, an innovative folding roof stored in the luggage compartment can be opened up like an umbrella at any time. When this folding roof is in place, the car can travel at up to 130 km/h.

The doors of the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport are made of carbon fibre, and house an integrated longitudinal beam. In the event of an accident, this transfers the load from the A to the B-pillar, thereby dissipating impact energy. Furthermore, the two redesigned air intakes for the 16-cylinder mid-engine now feature 10-centimetre wide carbon-fibre elements to offer protection in the event of a roll.

Along with moisture-resistant, backstitched leather, a range of new equipment features has been added to the interior of Bugatti Veyron 16.4 grand sport, including a reversing camera with 2.7-inch monitor integrated in the rear-view-mirror and the "Puccini" sound system with digital signal processor. Assembled by hand, at the company's headquarters in Molsheim, Alsace, it will be limited to maximum 150 units; with the first 40 of these have gone exclusively to registered Bugatti customers.

300th Hyundai Dealership in Karur, Tamil Nadu

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and the second largest car manufacturer, today reached another milestone with its 300th dealership starting operations in Karur, Tamil Nadu.

This expansion drive further strengthens HMIL’s commitment to its customers by bringing its world class products closer to its ever increasing consumer base. Starting with 59 state-of-the-art world class dealerships in 1998, the company has set an aggressive target to increase the dealership network to 320 by the end of 2010.

In addition to its 300 dealerships, HMIL has an additional network of 112 sales outlets along with 130 Hyundai Advantage dealers which is the company’s pre-owned car business. All these combined together gives HMIL unmatched access to customers with 542 touch points in 290 cities across the country. Volkswagen India Sales Grow 131.9% in First 9 Months of 2010

The Volkswagen Group continues its forward momentum in India with the year 2010 promising to be a milestone in its India success story. The Volkswagen Group comprising of the three brands- Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen achieved an extraordinary growth in deliveries to customers of 131.9 per cent in the period January to September 2010. The three brands together delivered in total 32,359 vehicles to customers in the first nine months 2010 as compared to 13,956 cars sold from January to September 2009.

The Volkswagen brand has emerged as the largest selling brand of the Group in the period with impressive sales figures of 15,957 vehicles in the period as against 2,201 cars sold in the corresponding period in 2009, a big leap of 625.0 per cent. Skoda sold 14,224 cars from January to September 2010 as against 10,415 cars sold between in the corresponding period in 2009, a growth of 36.6 per cent. Audi reported a growth of 63.4 per cent percent with 2,178 vehicles sold in nine month period in 2010 as against 1,333 vehicles sold last year.

In the period January to September 2010 the best-selling car from Volkswagen is the Polo. It is one outstanding model in the Volkswagen Group’s exceptional range making the Polo a benchmark in the compact segment. It is manufactured in the Chakan plant, Pune. Another sought after car from the Volkswagen brand is the Jetta, which was launched in India in 2008. It is assembled in the Volkswagen’s Group Aurangabad plant.

The best selling cars of Skoda in the first nine months 2010 are the Fabia and the Laura. The Fabia, a supermini is amongst the popular choices under the hatchback segment. It is manufactured in the Chakan Plant in Pune.

Audi A4 and Audi A6 are amongst the list of top luxury cars worldwide and were best selling from January to September 2010. Both are assembled in Aurangabad plant along with the Audi Q5. In the luxury SUV segment too, Audi continues to retain its leadership position with the Q5 and the Q7 registering impressive sales.

Volkswagen Group continues to strengthen its presence in India and is moving rapidly towards making a mark in the country. Currently the three brands of the Group offer in total 18 different models, from the high end luxury sedan to the value-for-money compact car.

TVS Motor Q2 Revenue Up 43%

A complete portfolio complemented by sales from new and existing products has led to a robust increase in TVS Motor Company's domestic and export sales across all categories during the second quarter of the current fiscal. This has enabled the company to achieve a revenue growth of 43% during the quarter with sales revenue growing from Rs. 1130 crores in the quarter ended September 2009 to Rs.1616 crore in the quarter ended September 2010.

Profit before tax, during the quarter under review, grew at 181% from Rs. 24 crore recorded in September 2009 to Rs. 68 crore in the current quarter. Profit after tax grew by 123% from Rs. 25 crore in the previous comparable quarter to Rs.55 crore in the quarter under review.

Total two-wheeler sales of the company grew at 32% in the current quarter, increasing from 3.91 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 5.17 lakh units in the current quarter. Motorcycle sales grew at 35% from 1.55 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 2.10 lakh units in the reporting quarter. Scooters continued to grow substantially at 45% from 0.86 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 1.25 lakh units in the current quarter.

Two wheeler exports registered 67% growth with sales increasing from 35 thousand units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 59 thousand units in the current quarter.

Three wheeler sales during the quarter grew 202% from 3259 units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 9826 units in the quarter ended September 2010.

PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia registered total two wheeler sales of about 11,000 units during the first half of the current year in comparison with 7,300 units recorded in the same period of the previous year. Exports accounted for 2,300 units. The product portfolio of the company continued to receive good response from consumers in the region. Presently, the company has around 130 dealerships across Indonesia and plans to expand its network to around 220 by March 2011.

Ford India extended its customer sales and service footprint in the state of Karnataka with the opening of Cauvery Ford, a brand new 3S (showroom, sales and service) dealership facility in the city of Bengaluru. Toyota Prius Sales Top 2-million Mark Worldwide

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that worldwide cumulative sales of the Toyota "Prius"—the world's first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle—have passed the 2-million mark, with approximately 2,012,000 units sold as of the end of September1. Currently, Prius sales are robust in more than 70 countries and regions, particularly in Japan and North America.

The Prius was launched in Japan in 1997 and began selling in Europe, North America and other markets in 2000. The second generation was released in 2003 and the third generation in 2009.

The third-generation Prius employs the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) with a motor speed reduction device. More than 90% of the THS II was redesigned for the third generation, which boasts a world-leading2 fuel efficiency of 38.0 km/L3 and driving performance on a par with that offered by a vehicle with a 2.4-liter conventional engine. Reflecting its name derived from "to go before" in Latin, the Prius, with four selectable driving modes and available advanced features such as a solar powered ventilation system, represents a pioneering, innovative step forward.

Based on sales figures collected up to September 30, 2010, TMC believes that the Prius worldwide has contributed to a reduction in CO2 emissions4 by producing approximately 11 million tons5 less CO2 when compared with gasoline-powered vehicles in the same class and of similar size and driving performance.

As part of its high-priority environment-management policies, Toyota has made a concerted effort to promote and popularize hybrid technology, chiefly through the Prius. Volkswagen India in association with Indo German Chamber of Commerce is all set to celebrate the Oktoberfest 2010 with great fun and splendour during the Nanoli Pune Derby Weekend at the Pune Turf Club. This is the second time that the Oktoberfest is being hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) in association with Volkswagen India at the Royal Western India Turf Club.

Toyota's New Dealership in Khar

The new dealership is located in the up market Western Suburbs of Khar West in Mumbai. Spread over a total area of 6000 sq.ft the facility has a delivery bay, customer lounge, display area and a café.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurated its 10th dealership outlet in Mumbai, taking its dealer network count to 108 in 73 cities across the country. The new outlet is a 1S (sales) facility of Madhuban Toyota, and is the latest state-of-the-art Toyota showroom opened in the country to offer an enhanced purchase experience.

Furthering Toyota's expansion drive closer to the Etios launch in December, the new dealership is located in the up market Western Suburbs of Khar West in Mumbai. Spread over a total area of 6000 sq.ft the facility has a delivery bay, customer lounge, display area and a café. This is the second Madhuban Toyota outlet in Mumbai, the first a 3S (Sales, Service and Spare Parts) facility in Kurla West.

Automobile Industry Growth Rate Moderates: SIAM

The cumulative production data for April-September 2010 shows a slight moderation in the overall production growth which clocked 31.06 percent over same period last year.

Domestic Sales:
All Passenger Vehicles segment during April-September 2010 grew at 32.91 percent over same period last year. However, growth rate till April-August 2010 was 33.88 percent indicating a marginal moderation in the growth rate.

Passenger Cars grew by 33.58 percent, Utility Vehicles grew by 20.69 percent and Multi Purpose Vehicles grew by 49.32 percent during this period. Here again, there has been a marginal moderation in the growth rates which stood at 34.32 percent, 22.56 percent and 50.68 percent respectively during April-August 2010.

The overall Commercial Vehicles segment registered a more moderated growth of 41.59 percent during April-September 2010 as compared to the same period last year. While Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) registered growth of 61.59 percent, Light Commercial Vehicles grew at 26.90 percent. However, till August 2010 Commercial Vehicles were growing at 44.75 percent.

Three Wheelers sales recorded a growth rate of 19.87 percent in April-September 2010 as against 20.15 percent till August 2010. While Passenger Carriers grew by 24.18 percent during April-September 2010, Goods Carriers registered marginal growth of 2.54 percent.

Two Wheelers registered a growth of 25.86 percent during April-September 2010. Mopeds, Scooters and Motorcycles grew by 23.13 percent, 44.95 percent and 22.52 percent respectively. Here again, there is again a drop in growth rate from April-August 2010 when the growth rate was 27.22 percent.

Exports:
During April-September 2010, overall automobile exports registered a growth rate of 43.61 percent. Again this is lower than 48.42 percent registered during April-August 2010.

Passenger Vehicles segment grew marginally by 1.48 percent in this period. Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers segments recorded growth of 84.01 percent, 99.99 percent and 52.33 percent respectively during April-September 2010.

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., revealed the sketch of its "New Global Sedan". It is the second product after the Nissan Micra to be built on Nissan's versatile ‘V' platform. The "New Global Sedan" will have its premiere at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Auto mobile Exhibition in December 2010.

Nissan New Global Sedan SketchT be launched first in China, the model will be launched in India in the second half of 2011 and will be manufactured at the company's plant at Oragadam, near Chennai.

New Bajaj TwoWheeler Showroom in Vikarabad in Andhra Pradesh

Sadananda Swamy informed that Bajaj Auto had clocked monthly sales of 3,52,769 units all over India in September 2010, a 26 per cent jump over the same month last year. The company's total sales in September 2009 stood at 2,80,916 units. Bajaj Auto 's motor-cycles sales in September witnessed a 26 per cent increase at 3,14,515 units, compared to 2,49,133 units in the year ago-period. The company has sold the highest number of its Pulsar and Discover bikes last month, he added.

The company's three-wheeler sales in September 2010 sto od at 38,254 units, up 23 per cent over 31,121 units of the same month in 2009. This would not have been possible with the support of our dealers like Abhinandan Moto rs. Seeing there performance in the three-wheeler segment, we are sure that Abhinandan Moto rs will be the number one dealer for two-wheelers to oin a short time, Swamy said. Even though Bajaj has a backlog of pending orders for motorcycles, as an inaugural offer, accessories worth Rs. 800/- are being offered free for this festive season, he added.

L. Sampath Kumar, Regional Manager (Two Wheeler Service - AP), Bajaj Auto Ltd. said that the showroom is equipped with the latest and most sophisticated equipments to serve the customer better. He said that there are a lot of good finance options from Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd. and urged customers to avail the same. He said that BAFL is perhaps the only company India in finance sector with a 99 per cent rate of approvals and disbursement of loans.

Tata Aria: Price Between 12.91 to 15.50 Lakhs Launched in India

Tata Motors today launched the Tata Aria, the first Indian four-wheel drive crossover, a luxurious creation with the finesse of a sedan and the muscle of an SUV all blended in one car.

The Tata Aria redefines several benchmarks with its design and technologies, offering class leading features that take comfort and safety to a new height. The selectable 4x4 is equipped with a Torque-on-Demand System which significantly enhances all- terrain capabilities. It is the first in its segment with an In-dash GPS-based Navigation System. It is also among those rare cars in India to offer advanced safety features like the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which ensures the car's stability, and six airbags to ensure safety in exigencies.

Finesse of a sedan in the Tata Aria The Aria's styling is a blend of bold proportions, uncluttered lines and uncompromising aesthetics. The aggressive, well planted stance is tempered by a lunging silhouette and a dynamic roofline. Wraparound dual barreled headlamps complement the signature Tata grille. Chrome detailing on the sides accentuates its premium class. The interiors reflect the same richness and elegance in design, layout, and visual appeal. Premium leather upholstery enhances richly textured trims in single or dual tone themes. Air-conditioning louvres on pillars and a sweeping row of roof utility spaces add to the distinctive appeal.

Passengers can simply walk into the Aria, rather than having to climb up or get down into the cabin. The three-row theatre style flexible seating ensures ample space. Like the driver's and the front passenger seat, the second row seats can also be slid fore and aft to increase legroom. Both the second row and third row seats can be fully collapsed to make the car even roomier for accessories and luggage for that weekend sojourn.

The height-adjustable driver's seat and the tilt adjustable steering help configure the most comfortable driving position. The glasshouse offers commanding visibility, aided by electrically adjustable ORVMs. There is no need to look back even to park – a Reverse Guide Camera helps you with exactitude. As you drive out, the In-dash Navigation System guides you to your destination, the Driver Information System continuously indicates essential drive data, the Cruise Control allows you to set speed, and the Automatic Climate Control, through roof-mounted AC vents, keeps the cabin temperature ambient. The 2-DIN music system and Bluetooth, along with steering mounted phone and music controls, helps switch between music and conversation at the touch of a button. Other features do not even require raising a finger – Darkness Sensing Lights will come on automatically, as will Rain Sensing Wipers. Roof utility bins, a glove-box chiller and conveniently placed cup holders helps keep every thing you want within easy reach.

Muscle of an SUV in the Tata Aria The Aria's stylish design is inlaid with the DNA of an SUV, manifested in its stance, power, driveability and safety.

Its 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine, with variable turbine technology and 32-bit ECU delivers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque. It is equipped with a dual mass flywheel which isolates torsional vibrations from the powertrain, thus providing a NVH free environment in the cabin. The new Mark II gearbox is perfectly mated to the engine ensuring smooth power delivery and precise shifting.

The suspension is designed to achieve an optimal balance between ride comfort and control and stability, both on normal roads and in offroading. Its low-roll characteristics and higher soaking capacity further ensure a sedan-like ride quality and SUV-like offroading capability.

The 4x4 Adapterra Torque-on-Demand System on its own senses terrain conditions and automatically supplies torque in varying proportions between the front and rear axles, depending on the terrain. It helps off-road driving as well as stability on normal roads.

The Aria boasts of best in class safety features, making it one of the safest cars on Indian roads.

The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) senses any mismatch between the driver's intended direction and the actual direction of the car, and automatically intervenes to apply braking force to the appropriate wheel and stabilises the car. Along with ESP, the Traction Control System (TCS) maintains stability under situations of sudden acceleration.

The Aria is equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels resulting in superior braking effectiveness and better control. The Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Breakforce Distribution (EBD) aids steerability and control in emergency braking situations and on slippery surfaces.

The Aria's frame is constructed with advanced hydroformed members. Hydroforming enhances their rigidity while reducing weight. Besides, the body shell has crumple zones and the doors have side impact bars. Six airbags (driver, front passenger, side and curtain airbags) protect occupants from every side. Besides India, the Aria satisfies all current crash safety norms in European markets.

The Tata Aria Variants:
The Tata Aria is being launched in three trim levels, all with 4x4 – the Aria Pride at the top end, the Aria Prestige and the Aria Pleasure, each in eight colour options.
