TVS Registers 14% Growth in April 2011

TVS Motor Company witnessed an overall growth of 14% in total sales for April 2011. The company registered sales of 167,744 units as against 147,172 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. The growth was led by the company's scooter sales and international business. Three wheeler business of the company also continued to grow substantially.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales of the company grew by 13% recording sales of 164,183 units in April 2011 against 144,689 units recorded in April 2010.

Domestic two wheeler sales of the company accounted for 141,619 units in April 2011 against 125,471 units reported in April 2010 growing by 13%.

Scooter sales led the growth increasing by 31% with sales of 35,074 units compared to 26,860 units recorded in April 2010. Motorcycles grew by 5%; totaling 69,573 units in April 2011 as against 66,000 units in April 2010.

Exports

Exports recorded cumulative sales of 25,275 units in April 2011 as against 19,657 units in the previous year. During the month, the company exported 22,564 units of two wheelers against 19,218 units in April 2010.

Three Wheeler

In April 2011, the company sold 3,561 units of three wheelers as against 2,483 units in the comparable month of the previous year, a growth of 43%.

TVS StaR Bike Sales Cross 3 Million Mark

TVS Motors Overall Growth of 28% in March 2011

Consistent contributions from all segments of the two and three wheeler industries during the current fiscal has enabled TVS Motor Company to achieve its stated guidance of two million in sales. The company registered an overall growth of 28% in the month of March 2011 with sales of 191,208 units as against 149,194 units in the same month of the previous year.

The company's cumulative sales grew 33% with sales of 2,046,668 units for the period April 2010 to March 2011 against 1,536,919 units registered in the previous comparable period.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales of the company grew by 27% recording sales of 186,781 units in March 2011 against 146,763 units registered in March 2010.

Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April 2010 to March 2011 grew by 32% with sales of 2,006,808 units over 1,521,939 units in April to March 2010.

Domestic sales of the company increased by 28% registering sales of 162,719 units in March 2011 against 126,696 units reported in March 2010.

Scooter sales continued to impress, growing by 50% with sales of 42,655 units compared to 28,504 units recorded in March 2010. Motorcycles grew 24% accounting for sales of 79,642 units in March 2011 as against 64,147 units in March 2010.

Exports

Exports increased 31% over the same month of the previous year accounting for 26,979 units as against 20,585 units in the previous year. During the month, the company exported 24,062 units of two wheelers against 20,067 units in March 2010.

Three Wheeler

In March 2011, the company sold 4,427 units of three wheelers as against 2,431 units in the comparable month of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April 2010 to March 2011 grew by 166% with sales of 39,860 units against 14,980 units.

TVS Motor February 2011 Result Shows 24% Growth

Significant growth from across all segments backed by strong contributions from scooters, buoyant exports and domestic sales has facilitated 24% growth in overall sales for TVS Motor Company during the month of February 2011. The company sold 177,412 units in February 2011 against 142,676 units in the same month of the previous year. The company's cumulative sales for the period April 2010 to February 2011 stood at 1,855,460 units.

Two Wheeler

Total two wheeler sales of the company recorded a growth of 23 % with sales of 173,200 units in February 2011 against 140,544 units reported in February 2010.

Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April 2010 to February 2011 increased by 32% with sales of 1,820,027 units over 1,375,176 units in April to February 2010.

Domestic sales of the company grew by 25% with sales of 151,526 units in February 2011 against 121,403 units registered in February 2010.

Scooter sales continued to impress growing by 49% with sales of 40,335 units as against 27,017 units recorded in February 2010. Motorcycles grew by 13% growth accounting for sales of 71,462 units in February 2011 as against 63,394 units in February 2010.

Exports

Exports accounted for 24,036 units of overall sales, increasing 13% over the same month of the previous year, with two wheelers accounting for 21,674 units.

Three Wheeler

Three wheeler sales of the company touched a new high in February 2011with sales of 4,212 units of three wheelers against 2,132 units sold in the comparable month of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April 2010 to February 2011 grew by 181% with sales of 35,433 units against 12,549 units.

TVS Motor Posts 48% Growth in October 2010

Robust demand for its products across all segments of the two and three wheeler industries has enabled TVS Motor Company to post a total sales growth of 48% in October 2010. The company registered total sales of 195,271 units in October 2010 against 131,941 units in October 2009. Cumulative total sales for the period April to October 2010 therefore stood at 1,184,065 units.

Two Wheeler
During the month, total two wheeler sales of the company grew by 46% with sales of 191,822 units against 131,029 units registered in October 2009.

Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April to October 2010 increased 34% with sales of 1,162,861 units over 868,509 units in April to October 2009.

Domestic sales of the company grew significantly by 45% with sales growing from 118,563 units in October 2009 to of 173,771 units in October 2010.

Scooter sales led the growth quotient with a substantial increase of 58% from 28,301 units in October 2009 to 44,659 units in the current month. Motorcycles sales too grew by an impressive 49% with sales increasing from 56,465 units in October 2009 to 84,233 units in October 2010.

Exports registered a growth of 45% with sales increasing from 12,466 units in October 2009 to 18,051 units in October 2010.

Three Wheeler
The company sold 3,449 units of three wheelers in October 2010 against 912 units in the comparable period of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April '10 to October '10 stood at 21,204 units, a growth of 232% over the same period of the previous year.

TVS Motor Q2 Revenue Up 43%

A complete portfolio complemented by sales from new and existing products has led to a robust increase in TVS Motor Company's domestic and export sales across all categories during the second quarter of the current fiscal. This has enabled the company to achieve a revenue growth of 43% during the quarter with sales revenue growing from Rs. 1130 crores in the quarter ended September 2009 to Rs.1616 crore in the quarter ended September 2010.

Profit before tax, during the quarter under review, grew at 181% from Rs. 24 crore recorded in September 2009 to Rs. 68 crore in the current quarter. Profit after tax grew by 123% from Rs. 25 crore in the previous comparable quarter to Rs.55 crore in the quarter under review.

Total two-wheeler sales of the company grew at 32% in the current quarter, increasing from 3.91 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 5.17 lakh units in the current quarter. Motorcycle sales grew at 35% from 1.55 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 2.10 lakh units in the reporting quarter. Scooters continued to grow substantially at 45% from 0.86 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 1.25 lakh units in the current quarter.

Two wheeler exports registered 67% growth with sales increasing from 35 thousand units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 59 thousand units in the current quarter.

Three wheeler sales during the quarter grew 202% from 3259 units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 9826 units in the quarter ended September 2010.

PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia registered total two wheeler sales of about 11,000 units during the first half of the current year in comparison with 7,300 units recorded in the same period of the previous year. Exports accounted for 2,300 units. The product portfolio of the company continued to receive good response from consumers in the region. Presently, the company has around 130 dealerships across Indonesia and plans to expand its network to around 220 by March 2011.

TVS Motor's Highest Sales in August 2010

In an impressive showing of monthly numbers, TVS Motor Company registered the highest ever sales figures in the month of August 2010. Total sales of the company stood at 170,735 units in August 2010 against 127,875 units in August 2009, a growth of 34%. Robust growth in all segments of the two and three wheeler market enabled the company to record maximum sales. Independently too, two wheelers and three wheeler sales were highest ever for TVS Motor Company.

Two Wheeler
Total two wheeler sales of the company for the month of August 2010 grew 32% with sales of 167,109 units against 126,842 units recorded in August 2009.

Cumulative sales registered a growth of 32% for the period April to August 2010 with sales of 786,256 units against 594,927 units in April to August 2009.

Domestic sales grew by 29%, registering sales of 148,081 units in August 2010 against 115,095 units in August 2009.

Scooter sales of the company grew 43% increasing to 40,913 units in the month of August 2010 from 28,582 units registered in August 2009. Motorcycles registered a growth of 30% in August 2010, with sales of 66,574 units against 51,127 units in August 2009. Exports grew by a significant 62% with sales of 19,028 units in August 2010 against 11,747 units in August 2009.

Three Wheeler
The company's three wheeler business continued to grow with sales of 3,626 units in August 2010 in comparison with 1,033 units in August 2009. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April '10 to August '10 stood at 14,533 units, a growth of 239% over the same period of the previous year.
