Audi Rs 5 Coupe India
Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Audi Rs 5 Coupe, priced at INR 7,600,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The high revving 4.2 FSI V8 with its 331 kW (450 hp) unleashes powerful performance yet uses fuel efficiently.

“With its athletic and powerful identity, spontaneous responsiveness and extraordinarily high revving, the new Audi Rs 5 is the ideal high performance Coupe which embodies the core essence of our brand DNA, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. Equipped with a powerful V8 engine, a new permanent all – wheel drive system and a whole series of performance characteristics, the Audi Rs 5 truly epitomizes progressiveness and is unmatched in terms of style, performance and driving dynamics. I am confident that the launch of the new Audi Rs 5 will further help us consolidate our position in the sports car segment”, said Mr. Michael Perschke, Head – Audi India.

The Power Packed Performer:
The V8 in the Rs 5 Coupe conveys the skin-tingling feeling of power and emotion.
Displacing 4,163 cc, the 4.2 FSI delivers impressive torque and just like a race engine is right at home even at high revs. It puts out 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250 rpm, and the peak torque of 430 Nm is available between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. The sonorous V8 catapults the two-door model from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds on its way to an electronically governed top speed of 280 km/h.

The engine is partnered by an enhanced seven-speed S tronic shift. This innovative dual-clutch transmission enables gear shifts to be executed in a few hundredths of a second with virtually no interruption in power flow.

A perfect combination of sporty design and luxurious style:
The Rs 5 Coupe has an athletic road stance, and its classically elegant two-door lines dazzle with new and clear-cut accents. Its single-frame grille bears a glossy anthracite-gray rhombus-pattern grid. Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights come standard. The striking bumpers, with large air intakes, at the front and a sporty diffuser insert at the rear also help to create the trademark Audi Rs. look, as do the flared wheel arches and side sill extensions that have been included to differentiate the body.

Dynamic elegance: the interior:
The vehicle’s exclusive and dynamically elegant styling extends to the interior. The sport seats are power-adjustable and include a four-way lumbar support and an extendable thigh rest. Aluminum inlays adorn the door sill trims. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in the Rs 5 Coupe has a thick rim and is covered with perforated leather with contrasting gray stitching. The selector lever for the seven-speed S tronic has a knob of perforated leather and a cuff with gray seams.

Globally, Audi recorded significant growth rate worldwide in the luxury class. With 422,000 cars delivered in the first four months (2010: 360,706), Audi sold 17 percent more cars worldwide than in the same period last year.

Audi India recorded an impressive 105 percent growth from Jan – April 2011 with a sale of 1986 cars (967 cars: Jan - April 2010). In April 2011, the company sold 375 cars – a growth of 98 percent over the same period last year (189 cars: April 2010).
