The Indian unit of US based leading car maker Ford Motors, which has been registering whopping growth figures in the country since last one year, is now planning to roll-out eight more new car models in the country in next four years, as per a statement given by senior company official on Wednesday. The decision has been taken in the view of overwhelming response received by its cars like Figo and Endeavour in the Indian market.
Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, Vice-President (Marketing) at Ford India, said in a statement given to the reporters in Rajkot that company is concentrating to introduce eight more car models in the next four years.
Ford India registered its highest ever monthly sales in the Indian market in the month of January 2011. The company sold over 10,000 units during the month as against 2,453 units sold in the same month last year. In calendar year 2010, Ford India sold a total of 83,887 units of its cars in the Indian market as compared to mere 29,488 cars sold in calendar year 2009.
Moreover, the company is also enhancing its dealership network in the Indian market to 200 dealers from existing number of 170 dealers.
