Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a part of the US $11.1bn Mahindra Group, today announced its highest ever monthly sales numbers which stood at 37522 units during March 2011, as against 31698 units during March 2010, registering a growth of 18%.
The company’s highest ever domestic sales stood at 35488 units during March 2011, as against 29944 units during March 2010, an increase of 19%. It also achieved its highest ever export figure of 2034 units, a growth of 16%.
The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes the UVs as well as the Logan) registered a growth of 19%, having sold 17320 units in March 2011, as against 14609 units during March 2010 while the 3wheelers segment has grown by an impressive 32%.
Speaking on the numbers, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “It is a matter of pride for us that March 2011 has been a record month for both domestic and export sales in the history of Mahindra. We have also closed the financial year 2010‐11 with an overall robust growth of 26%”.
